Classified ads in newspapers have been passe for years, thanks to the Internet. Now static classifieds could be on their way out on the Web.
The next big thing? Video classifieds -- consumer-produced commercials that range from embarrassingly low-budget to masterful, with humiliating, somewhat amusing and compelling in between.

www.realpeoplerealstuff.com is trying to bring classified listings to life by allowing users to create and post short online videos showing off everything from handbags to homes.
While it has far fewer listings than regular classified sites, and some clips are downright silly, for items like real estate and cars, it can be quite useful by giving you a panoramic view of the product.
Now, a new concept of advertising is here, we can say that’s a video classifieds combination of craiglist and youtube, which sounds really great. So, you can use your video to represent yourself with classified ads, you can send this video ads using email to your friends or your potential customers.
First we had Craigslist and eBay, and their imitators of course. Now Buy.com and Facebook are teaming up to host online Garage Sales. And a new site where amateur video stars hawk used merchandise may have found a way to make Web video pay. Pat Loeb explains.

In new media, the best new ideas are often old ideas, combined. RealPeopleRealStuff takes the classified ad, tried and tested online by Craigslist and Gumtree, and combines it with the YouTube video-sharing model.
The result - ultra lo-fi homemade video ads touting everything from peanut brittle to commercial property - is so obvious Internet entrepreneurs everywhere can't believe they didn't think of it themselves. But, to be fair, neither did RealPeopleRealStuff.
Shopping for stuff on the Net but want to really see what you're considering buying?
RealpeopleRealstuff.com has melded online classifieds with uploaded videos – creating a combination of Craigslist with YouTube. The offerings range from the wacky to the totally serious.
There's a new Web site called Real People Real Stuff where anyone can post a classified video. As expected, there are plenty of bad-quality clips and boring infomercial-type stuff, selling real estate, cars and even Shih Tzu puppies. But there are also some hidden gems.
For instance, some guy in Alexandria, Va., wrote a song about his company's "Dog Guard" invisible pet fence. "We keep your hound aroundddd. We keep your hound aroundddd," he croons as he strums his guitar.
What do you get when you cross online classified ads with web-based video? Realpeoplerealstuff.com is equal parts Craigslist and YouTube—a whole new way for customers to reach out to one another to sell their used appliances, automobiles, collectibles, concert tickets and countless other goods and services. “Realpeoplerealstuff.com combines the hottest internet trends in one, easy-to-use site: e-commerce, snarky writing, funny videos, everyone's desire to be a star and video sharing.”
