ROCKVILLE - As part of the annual "July in the Sky" festivities, the "Push, Pull, Pedal Patriotic Parade" brings out the patriotism in all who take part. A quick, but heavy rainstorm kept many people away from downtown Rockville prior to the fireworks, but the rain stopped and the green in the center of Rockville filled with spectators. The prime places to view the pyrotechnics were from both downtown Rockville and Henry Park. Henry Park was also the site of many family-friendly activities. The event was sponsored by the town of Vernon, Rockville Downtown Association and many other sponsors, including Rockville Bank, Price Chopper and Kraft, Dunkin' Donuts, SBM Charitable Foundation, TSI Harley-Davidson, Stop & Shop, McDonald's, ReminderNews & Reminder Gold Pages, Max DJ Service, Sign Connection, Hidden Dragon Karate and the Vernon Bicentennial Committee. Due to the generosity of the local sponsors, enough money was raised to increase this year's show to $28,000 in fireworks.
