VERNON/ROCKVILLE - Several times throughout the 30-plus minute "July in the Sky" fireworks show, it was difficult to tell when the finale was going to take place, due to the sheer volume of fireworks that lit up the sky several times during the program. The weather cleared in time for the annual festivities to take place on July 1, and prime viewing areas for the fireworks were in downtown Rockville and at Henry Park. The event was sponsored by the Town of Vernon and the Rockville Downtown Association, along with a host of sponsors, making this year's show one of the best, according to officials.
